Our rector writes with sad news:

Ted Heiskell, a long-time parishioner at St. Peter’s, died yesterday at Grant Hospital. He was 89 years old and the caretaker for many years for his wife, Kathy. He had a “heart event” Saturday and was taken to Grant for treatment.

He was a member of the Parish Choir but gave it up to make sure that Kathy was taken care of, 24/7. 

On Wednesday of last week, Kathy was taken to Grady Hospital for an intestinal problem. She was planning to forego treatment and enter hospice this week, but yesterday the doctors said she was recovering and was well enough to leave.

Kathy’s daughter, Cynthia Adams, is making arrangements to have Kathy move into a care facility in the Columbus area. 

Please keep Ted and his family in your prayers, and offer prayers for Kathy and her family as she also moves from her home and needs God’s healing. 

Rest eternal grant to Ted, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful, departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
