Barb Hickcox writes with news about her son Michael:

“Just wanted to update you about Michael. He has completed chemo and radiation and is waiting for the surgery. He was out in LA for a PET scan and genetic test and his doctors were very pleased that the tumor had shrunk and he gained 5 pounds. He has lost 40 pounds and a lot of muscle and hair although not all the hair.

 
“He talks to the surgeon next Thursday and should have a date and and an idea of what the surgery will entail. In the meantime his appetite has improved and he is trying to gain a few more pounds. He is with Charlotte and me at the lake in VT and his partner has stayed in LA for the better internet connection for his work. Michael continues to work and has had a good year in his business despite his illness.
