Tommie Stranahan

Tommie Stranahan who was the oldest member of St. Peter’s parish at 99 years, died today at Willow Brook Village. She had stage four melanoma. A funeral service is pending.
On a personal note: When I started attending St. Peter’s in 1995, I sat next to Tommie at the 1030 service and continued to do so for many years. She always called me her “pew buddy”. She was always a bright note in my life every Sunday at St. Peter’s. She will be sadly missed and gratefully remembered as a wonderful part of our lives and the lives of the people who knew her at Willow Brook. I suspect that her former second grade students remember her that way as well. She was also a bright note at Bible Study at the Franklin Street parish house when I was regularly attending. I shall greatly miss her.
As I suspect many will.
As the US Episcopal Church Prayer Book says:
Rest eternal grant to Tommie, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful, departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
