Prayers for Bishop Briedenthal
The Rev. David Kendall-Sperry elaborates on Bishop Briedenthal’s situation.
Our Bishop will retire 29 November 2020.
He successfully finished physical therapy after a recent serious infection that had impaired his mobility.
Our Bishop also announced in a letter to the diocese on 23 October 2020, that he is addicted to alcohol. He participated in a 30 day treatment program from 23 September to 23 October.
He now faces a life-long struggle against one of the more terrible demonic afflictions that can beset a human-being.
May our loving and merciful God embrace and support Bishop Briedenthal and his family as he continues his recovery from this horrible affliction; and may He help and guide our diocese as we enter the process of selecting a new bishop. AMEN
